The plane, operated by Venezuelan airline Lamia, was carrying 72 passengers and nine crew members when it crashed in a mountainous area outside Medellín.
Ospina, as quoted by Noticias RCN, said:
"The plane broke in two and the situation is complex."Among the survivors are Alan Ruschel, a defender for Chapecoense. He has been taken to a nearby
hospital in stable condition. Goalkeepers Marcos Danilo and Jakson Follmann also survived, along with a flight attendant.
