WAHALA | N13m disappears from accoutant of ministry of women affair's car

An accounts staff with the Katsina State Government is presently assisting Police detectives over the mysterious disappearance of N13m inside his car’s booth.

The civil servant, Abubakar Aliyu, works in the finance department of the state Ministry of Women Affairs. The money was meant to offset some of the ministry’s financial obligations.
According to sources, Abubakar had withdrawn the money from the Katsina branch of an old genaration bank (name withheld) sometime last week and headed back to his office located at the state secretariat.
It was further learnt that on getting to the office, he parked the car outside and entered the office to tidy up the space he wanted to put the money for safe keeping.
The sources added that by the time Abubakar came out to remove the money from his car booth, he discovered that the money was no longer there.
Abubakar was said to have subsequently cried out for help, the development which drew the attention of his other colleagues and that of passers-by.
The Police were thereafter invited, and Abubakar has since been with the detectives who are still investigating circumstances surrounding the incident.
The incident was the topic of discussion at the state secretariat as at press time.
The state Police Command’s spokesman, Dsp. Salisu Agaisa, confirmed the development.
“Yes, I heard something like that. We have someone bearing that name (Abubakar Aliyu) with us. He is assisting us in our investigation, which is still going on,” Agaisa said.
